Where the movement
begins to speak.
Ebauche Studio works with clients who care about the process — bespoke assembly, careful refinishing, and precise movement work, carried out one piece at a time.
Three stations. One studio.
Each service is handled with attention to your component choices and finished expectations. No two pieces are treated identically.
Bespoke Watch Assembly
Assembly for clients bringing together their own sourced components — consultation, movement preparation, casing, and final adjustment. You stay involved throughout. Typically 6–12 weeks.
Case Refinishing & Refit
Surface restoration in brushed, polished, or combination finishes, attending carefully to original geometry. Crystal, gasket, and crown reseating included where needed. Around 3–5 weeks.
Movement Installation & Casing
Precise movement fitting, dial alignment, hand setting, crown fitment, and hands height calibration. Offered as a standalone service for clients who have sourced their own components. 1–2 weeks.
Considered work, not volume.
Client-Involved Process
You are consulted at each stage. No decisions are made about your piece without your input or awareness.
Component Familiarity
We work with what you bring — movements, cases, dials — understanding each component's origin and condition before proceeding.
Honest Timelines
Timelines are given as working estimates, not deadlines. Quality work does not benefit from arbitrary rush.
Original Geometry Respected
When refinishing, we follow the lines the manufacturer intended — not the easiest path, but the correct one for the piece.
Documented Consultation
Each project begins with a written summary of the scope, components, and agreed approach — so there is no ambiguity.
Kuala Lumpur Studio

Have components waiting?
Let us talk about what comes next.
Whether you are assembling a first piece or refinishing a treasured one, we welcome enquiries from clients who value considered craft over quick turnarounds.
Before you write to us.
Do I need to have all my components ready before contacting you?
Not at all. Many clients reach out early in their sourcing process. We are happy to advise on compatibility, sourcing direction, and what to look for — so your components arrive with the project already partly understood.
What movement brands or origins do you work with?
We work primarily with Swiss and Japanese movements — both vintage ebauches and current-production blanks. If you have something unusual, please describe it in your enquiry and we will let you know if it falls within our working scope.
Can I bring my piece in person for a consultation?
Yes. Our studio at 47 Jalan Kia Peng accepts appointments for in-person consultations. We ask that you contact us in advance so we can allocate time properly. Walk-ins are not our working model.
What is included in the Bespoke Assembly service?
The service covers initial consultation and scope documentation, movement inspection and preparation, dial and hands fitting, casing with crown and crystal seating, and a final adjustment period. The client is informed at each transition point.
Do the quoted prices include parts?
Quoted prices cover studio labour and the standard consumables involved (gaskets, oils, cleaning). Components — movements, cases, crystals, crowns — are the client's own unless a specific supply arrangement is discussed separately.
How do I know when my piece will be ready?
Timeline estimates are given at consultation and updated if anything changes during the work. We do not set hard completion dates, but we communicate proactively. Most projects follow their estimated range with reasonable predictability.
