Ebauche Studio

Terms & Conditions

Last updated: March 2025

These terms govern the relationship between Ebauche Studio ("the studio", "we", "us") and clients who engage our services. By requesting a service or entering into a project agreement with us, you accept these terms. Please read them before proceeding.

Ebauche Studio operates from 47 Jalan Kia Peng, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For queries regarding these terms, please contact us at [email protected].

1. Services

Ebauche Studio offers three primary services: Bespoke Watch Assembly, Case Refinishing and Refit, and Movement Installation and Casing. Each service is described in detail on our solutions page. The scope of work for any given project is agreed in writing between the studio and the client before work commences.

We reserve the right to decline any project that falls outside our current capacity, technical capability, or where we have reasonable concern about component suitability or condition.

2. Quotes and Pricing

Prices listed on this website represent standard starting rates for each service type. Final pricing for a given project may differ based on the complexity of the work, the condition of components, and any additional steps identified during assessment.

We will provide a written quote before beginning work. No charges beyond the agreed quote will be added without prior discussion and your explicit approval. Where unforeseen issues arise mid-project, we will contact you before proceeding.

All prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) unless otherwise stated.

3. Client Components and Materials

For services involving client-supplied components — movements, cases, dials, hands, and associated parts — the client is responsible for ensuring that components are legal to own and are not subject to any third-party claims or encumbrances.

We will handle all client components with appropriate care. However, we cannot accept liability for pre-existing damage, wear, or condition deficiencies that are identified upon receipt or during work. Any such findings will be communicated to you promptly.

Components should be delivered or handed over in a manner agreed with the studio. We are not responsible for loss or damage during postal or courier transit arranged by the client.

4. Timelines

Indicative timelines are provided at the outset of each project. These reflect our best current estimate based on the nature of the work and studio capacity at that time. Timelines are not binding commitments — watchwork involves careful, deliberate attention and cannot always be accelerated without compromise to quality.

We will keep you informed of progress and will notify you if a timeline requires revision. Where delays arise from component issues, third-party supply, or factors outside our control, we will communicate this clearly.

5. Revisions and Approval

For bespoke assembly projects, the studio will seek your approval at agreed milestone stages before proceeding to subsequent steps. You will be given reasonable opportunity to review and provide feedback at these points.

Changes to scope requested after work has commenced may affect the timeline and final price. Any such changes will be discussed and agreed in writing before implementation.

6. Collection and Return of Work

Completed work will be available for collection at the studio. Where postal or courier return has been agreed, the client is responsible for associated costs and for insuring items at appropriate value during transit. We recommend that clients insure high-value pieces for their full replacement value.

We will notify you when your project is ready. If work is not collected within 60 days of notification without prior arrangement, the studio reserves the right to apply a storage fee or make alternative arrangements.

7. Payment

Payment terms will be outlined in your project agreement. Typically, a deposit is required before work begins, with the balance due upon completion. We do not release completed work until payment has been received in full.

Accepted payment methods will be communicated at the time of agreement. We do not accept payment card details by email.

8. Limitation of Liability

Our liability to any client in connection with services provided is limited to the value of the service fee paid for the specific project in question. We are not liable for consequential, indirect, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of use or loss of sentimental value.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, negligence resulting in personal injury, or any matter where exclusion is not permitted by applicable Malaysian law.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, design, and layout — is the property of Ebauche Studio and may not be reproduced without permission. Photographs of completed client projects may be used by the studio for portfolio purposes unless the client expressly requests otherwise in writing.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from the provision of services or these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, with Kuala Lumpur as the agreed venue.

11. Updates to These Terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time your project agreement is confirmed will apply to that engagement. Updated terms will be published on this page with a revised date.
